Lets start with the name ,The Fancy Lady comes from my grandmother. I know what your thinking she was your great inspiration and taught you everything you know about baking , well your wrong lol. She couldn't cook to save her life in fact my grandfather was the cook in my family. But my grandmother for as long as i can remember would refer to herself as a fancy lady and when i got older she would also refer to me as one to. So when it was time to think of a name i couldn't think of a better name to fit my business.
An artist by nature i wasn't i didn't always wanna be a chef ,but fate stepped in and i found what i was suppose to really be doing. I studied fashion in London and California for a few years and when bad circumstances left me back home in new jersey i started doing something i always did best ,i started to bake. I grew up baking and cooking with my mother for fun but never took it seriously till i was back home again.I realized i had a lot more creativity and imagination when it came to recipes. I realized that i wanted to do something different than most cupcake/ bakeries i wanted to make it more everybody friendly . I wanted to make unique stuff for the younger generation like me but use old classic recipes and ways of thinking. After that i just went at it full force subjecting friends family and my lovely coworkers to try every cupcake i made till i had perfected each recipe and I'm still coming up with new ones everyday .
Right now I'm a work from home business everything i make is home made and there are no preservatives or anything fake(aside from food coloring). I bake everything in a professional kitchen space now i rent cause of the lame nj law. I also use some of the finest and fresh ingredients so everything you get is fresh delicious and gourmet. Within the next two years I'm going to be moving and expanding and opening up a shop as to where that's a surprise I'm still looking into places right now. The Fancy Lady Gourmet's shop when open will be the ultimate place to come enjoy a delicious snack and relax while listing to good music in a comfortable atmosphere.
Everything iv learned in life and the people iv met and places iv been influence me and my recipes. I try and put myself and these things into all my recipes and everything i make .
